I have a new Mac and am trying to retrieve my Documents folder from my old Mac in Dropbox backups. It does not appear in the Dropbox app on my new Mac but i can see it on my old Mac. How do I get these across to the new computer?
Thanks for posting on our Community, @mjgave! Do you see an existing backup of your Documents folder, if you go to this page? If yes, can you also check this Help Center article? Are you seeing the "Download" option, if you follow these steps, for example? Keep me posted for any updates.
No, it looks like it is now backing up the new computer and never migrated the Documents over from the old one! I have my Documents still on my old laptop but can I transfer them over from there? It was my impression that for older files I have not used in awhile that only an alias file is left on the old laptop and it links to the full version in the Dropbox Backups. HELP! I need these files!
