"Storage full" notifications when I'm using less than 60% of my quota

This seems to be a common issue, but I haven’t found any effective solutions yet.

Whenever I open Dropbox on my Mac, I receive a notification that my Dropbox is almost full and I need to upgrade.  The notification states that I’m using 55% of my available space, but I don’t have any backups.

This is frustrating and annoying, and comes across like a craven ploy to upsell upgrades that I do not need.

Are you receiving this notification on the Dropbox desktop application, or the Dropbox site when you log in?

Have you tried marking the notification as read to see if this helps remove it?
