Hello —- we turn on the "early release" "beta" option xxxx.3.xxxx —- so now we we want to revert to the stable version —— so we turn off the setting on Dropbox.com —- so will the client / win version now revert to the stable version —- xxx.4.xxx
Hey @Frank P E., thanks for posting your question!
Since you've already turned off the "early releases" option in your account settings, all you have to do now to install the stable version of the Dropbox desktop app, is to simply reinstall it.
Once the installation is finished, the app should automatically be back to the stable (xxx.4.xxx) version.
I hope this helps, but if you have any issues, let me know.
thanks for the reply —- that is what we did ——- after turning the beta option off, we downloaded the win installer and ran it —— is did ?something? hours of indexing — since the Dropbox folder is 800g with over 600,000 file —— unless there is a way to swap out Dropbox.exe for the "right one" doing another "install" is not a feasible option
Can you clarify the current syncing status of your Dropbox app? Is it still trying to index your files, or has it changed since your last post? Please keep in mind that, in general, 300k files is the soft limit when it comes to the number of files within your local Dropbox folder. So, anything above that may cause performance issues.
