The dropboxinstaller.dmg does nothing on my mac desktop os 26.
Hey @BruceBucky1, thanks for the additional info and the screenshot.
It would seem like for some reason, the .dmg file is associated with Notes, so let's see if we can change that to fix your issue.
Does the app get installed now after double-clicking the .dmg file?
Hey @BruceBucky1 - sorry to hear about this.
Did you try rebooting your computer since you first noticed this?
Also, do you happen to be running any security programs like an antivirus, a firewall etc.?
Let me know more and we'll take it from there.
yes to reboot. No to firewalls or antivirus
Hey from me @BruceBucky1!
Could you try downloading the installer from another browser entirely, without any extensions or plugins running?
While at it, can you also try the offline installer on this page?
I'll be waiting for your updates!
I tried all the suggestions and the only thing I get is a disk image. I'm just looking for the desktop app. I have an existing dropbox account. I'm running 26.4.1 on a mac mini
Hey @BruceBucky1!
Thank you for your patience while we're trying to resolve this, and help you install the Dropbox desktop app.
I'd like to clarify something: you mentioned that you only get a disk image. When does this happen? Are you able to access the link I provided earlier, and download the installer or not?
I'd like to clarify a point: you mentioned that you only receive a disk image. When exactly does this happen? Additionally, are you able to access the link I provided earlier to download the installer or not?
Please send a couple of screenshots so we can investigate further—specifically, a screenshot of the disk image you mentioned.
I get the disk image instead of the actual app when I open the download. I was able to access all the links you sent me with the same results…..no app just a disk image which opens in my notes folder after double clicking.
That worked! Thanks! It's now installed.
