My access to dropbox was on my laptop only.
It suddenly died, I have a new laptop but don't know how to get to the dropbox to see the files on the new laptop.

Just install the Dropbox application from this link, sign in to your account using the same email address you used for Dropbox on the old laptop, and Dropbox will sync your files to the new laptop.
