Dropbox starts up when booting Windows, even when disabled in the preferences.

Question or Issue

Had to do a clean reinstall of Win11, then added Dropbox. Changed the settings not to load at startup. I prefer to manually sync. But when I return to computer in the morning, I see Dropbox is loaded on the machine and I am logged in. Is there a way to make sure that Dropbox only runs when I decide to use it and sync? Thank you.

Hi @EricD53, thanks for posting today!

The preferences in the Dropbox desktop application should prevent the app from loading automatically when the computer starts up.

Is it possible that you have the Dropbox desktop application set up to start up when booting in another way? 

This Microsoft article points out other ways in which any app could be made to start automatically. Could you check to see that the Dropbox app isn't enabled there?
