My files are not downloading, and I tried different browsers too, and the apps.

Hello, I have saved around 85 GB of data on Dropbox but now when I try to download the file it shows an error message like error while downloading, contact admin or couldn't connect to the server. Please help my files are essential to me, and this is happening for the second time, I even tried using different browsers and Dropbox desktop and mobile applications,

Yes, I have tried clearing the cache and also tried using incognito mode it still doesn't work

It sounds like you might be using a Business account, is that the case?

Also, is that content part of your own Dropbox account, or do you access it using a shared folder/link?

If you could also send me a screenshot of the error message you get when trying to download the content, that'd be great in order for me to have a visual too.

My content is part of my own dropbox, It doesn't show any error it just starts to download and then shows download complete but when I open my files it's just a 0bytes file/folder

Sorry for jumping in, @rayan kazi. Is this happening with all files (even small ones)?

Can you clarify the type of files you’re trying to download, as well as the size of files you’re trying to download from the website at once?

I can download the small files, but the file I am trying to download is an 84.21 GB zip file and is not downloading, please this is are my important file required for me.

You mentioned in your original post that you’re having trouble with the desktop app, as well.

Can you open your local Dropbox folder, select the file(s) you wish to download, right click on them and choose the option to copy/move them?

After that you can paste them on the location of your choice on your computer.

While downloading from dropbox app, it doesn't show any error, it just stops suddenly, while downloading from the browser it just get failed or I have attach a image of it, please resolve my issue as soon as possible.This is the error i get will downloading my file

Hi there @rayan kazi - this error doesn't come from Dropbox, but a third party app.

Could you let us know the exact steps you take to result in this?

Have you tried clearing your browser's cache or using another browser by the way?

Dropbox doesn't show any error it just stop downloads, i am tried clearing cache and even changing the browser. it shows download to around 20 gb then stops automatically without any error and notification.

Is this a single file you're trying to download or a folder perhaps @rayan kazi?

If it's the latter, you can break down your download in smaller batches to see if that helps.

Hi @rayan kazi, you mentioned that the file is part of your own account.

If you use our desktop app, that means the file should have synced locally, and exist within your Dropbox folder. Isn't that the case?

If the file is already in your Dropbox folder, would you mind clarifying the icon that exists next to it?

Also, have you tried closing any other third-party apps, and then trying to preview it?

You appear to be using a download manager, specifically, Internet Download Manager. Have you tried the link directly in your browser, without using the download manager?

I uploaded the file to Dropbox and then deleted it locally, I have also tried closing all the third-party apps and it still doesn't download. I have everything from turning off or on the firewall, using a desktop app or browser, using third-party apps without using any third-party apps, and clearing the cache I have tried all the methods but it still doesn't work. Just sometimes it downloads to 20 30% and then stops or shows download failed.

I also tried without the Internet Download Manager, but it still doesn't download only shows the download failed on the browser, and on the desktop app randomly stops without any notification.

When you say that you deleted the file locally do you mean from the Dropbox folder that you have in your device @rayan kazi?

Because if that's the case, then the file should have been deleted online too. Is it possible that you have any plug-ins on your browser, that could prevent this download, by any chance?

What happens exactly when you use the Dropbox desktop app in order to sync the file @rayan kazi?

Do you get any errors? Also, did you have trouble following the steps in the Help Center article I provided earlier, while locating the app's precise syncing status? Is it stuck syncing, or up-to-date? If you have any screenshots, feel free to attach them here.

Just trying to gather as much info as possible, and assist you in order to download the file to your device.

Hey @rayan kazi, we appreciate your patience in trying to resolve this.

Since this is a pretty large file, the best bet is for it to sync through the Dropbox desktop app.

We just need to make sure that the app works correctly.

If you have the desktop app installed, you should have a small Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar.

Please hover your mouse over it and let me know what you see.

As I have told you many times I have tried all the methods, every method available I tried everything but it still not downloading

Hi @rayan kazi, could you attach a screenshot showing the Dropbox desktop application on your machine, and the current syncing status to confirm that it isn't able to sync the file to your machine?

Since your account is over quota, this is why it isn't going to sync that file, unless you are on a paid account.

You'll need to find another method to download the file from the site, or use a different network entirely.
