Password Android App won't log in. "Oops! An error has occurred, please try again later."

Hi Megan - thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, this didn't work. I cleared the cache for Dropbox Passwords (after re-installing it), no change. Then, for the fun of it, I cleared the cache and the storage, no change. Am not able to give you a screenshot because every time I try, I get a black screen - does the app block screenshots?

I don't have a screenshot, but the description in my original post does describe what's happening to the best of my ability.

Any other ideas? Thanks!

Do you have the Passwords app installed on other devices as well?

It's Android 14. I have the Password app on my previous phone (Android 12, I think - it mostly worked on that).

Thanks for this info, @Jess51! Did you previously receive any kind of notification to your Android 12 device, when you tried to log in to Dropbox Passwords on your new mobile phone?

Dropbox Passwords will send a notification to all the devices you’ve already connected to confirm the new device you’re trying to connect.

I’d like to see if manually confirming this will help you proceed with the sign-in.

I have pulled the old phone out. Passwords app still seems to be working there, and there were no notifications about a login attempt. I reinstalled the app on the new phone to see if it prompted anything, but I still just get the same "Oops" message.

Hey Jess, can you keep the Passwords app open on your old device, when trying to login to the new one, to see if you'll get the notification prompting you to confirm the new device?

Recently I transferred ever app in my old mobile to new mobile. But dropbox passwords is not working in my new mobile. I thought, Because of login in old mobile it's not working, so I logout from old mobile then also I'm facing same issue.
Now I'm not able to login to dropbox passwords in old mobile also.
Now I'm stuck with this issue.

I linked my "dropbox passwords" app to my dropbox.
I was able to login to "dropbox" app in my new mobile, But not able to login to "dropbox passwords".

Yes, It's "dropbox passwords" app not working, not password of dropbox account.

Recently I installed dropbox passwords manager app in my new mobile device by logging out from the old device.
But I'm not able to login into dropbox passwords in new device and also as I logout from old device I'm not able to login to old device also.
Is there any way to resolve this issue.
(I don't have the backup code).
But I'm able to login to the dropbox account which is linked for the dropbox passwords.

Can you please send me a screenshot of the exact error you're getting and clarify how many devices you've linked to your Dropbox Passwords account?

Previously I had only one device linked to my dropbox passwords app.

From my new device, I logged out all the devices logged in from my dropbox account.

For screenshot, I'm not able to take screenshot from my mobile as it is showing ( Taking screenshots isn't allowed by the app).

But the error message I'm getting is
"Oops!
Error has occurred, Please try again later."

I tried so many times to login yet getting the same error message.

Hi @RahulT, so, just for clarification, you tried to login on the new phone in the Dropbox Passwords app, but it didn't work. You then logged out of all other devices for the Dropbox Passwords app, and then you tried to login on the new phone, is that correct?

Did you save your recovery words in order to login to your account?

Yes Jay, that is correct.

And for recovery words, I didn't have it.

Please help with this issue.

Using the security page I unlinked all the devices.

When I tried again to login to dropbox passwords
I'm getting

"Check your other device for a notification" message.

As I removed and unliked every devices.(Except active device)

Still I'm getting this message and I don't know to which device the notification is being sent.

Do changing my password would be helpful?
