How can someone send me some files to my Dropbox?

Can someone please help simplify something for me?  I am retired but still have work from my former employer as an independent contractor.  That work consists of transcribing interviews that they perform.  I have paid for Dropbox for years from another independent business but haven't used it in a long time.  How can my former employer send me .wav files (10-20 pages when finished) to my Dropbox?  I have given them my log-in info but Dropbox asks for a 6-digit code every time they try to log in to send me a file, which goes to my email, and if I'm not sitting in front of the computer right at that moment (we are in different time zones) that doesn't work for my former employer to wait because he has limited time to upload the file during his extremely busy day.  Thanks in advance.

Hey @RetiredCR, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

 

For starters, please note that sharing a Dropbox account is against the Dropbox ToS.  

 

It’s not necessary to share an account in order to share files with someone. In this case the person you want to share with should create their own account, and then you can send a link to the file.

 

If you'd like for your former employer to only upload to your own account, you can open up a file request for them to avoid sharing the same Dropbox account.
