Setting Folder to Online-Only doesn't free up local space

Question

My laptop is out of storage.  I am trying to free up storage by making Dropbox folders Online-Only.  I set a large folder (172 GB) Online Only last week, but the local disk space used has not decreased, those files are all still being stored locally.

How do I debug this ?

Hey @bdoman, sorry to jump in here.

Does the Dropbox icon in your system tray show that the application is "up to date" or is it still syncing?

And can you also right-click on your Dropbox folder, then click on "properties" and send me a screenshot of the info there?

What is the current status and version number of the Dropbox desktop application when you hover over the icon in the system tray/menu bar?
