I've gotten this error message a couple of times this morning. I'm pretty sure that I've uploaded *.txt files hundreds of times before. What's going on here?
Hi @RogerLin, currently there isn't a feature like what you're requesting.
Regarding zero-byte files, they wouldn't be able to be uploaded to the site directly. However, by placing them in the Dropbox folder, when you have the Dropbox desktop application installed, they would sync to the site normally.
Hey @RogerLin, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
.txt files are definitely supported, so could you please try again from a different browser or a private browsing window, to see if that helps?
Let me know how it goes.
I believe that the issue was that some of the files that I was attempting to upload were of 0kb in size; I was able to find 531 files that were 0kb in size and simply pretended that everything was OK at that point. (The reality is that the error message indicated that there were 1000+ files that were being skipped so the files that I found don't fully eliminate the problem.)
Is there an option in drop box where a list of problem files is generated? That would be a nice troubleshooting tool...
On a separate matter, it would be nice if dropbox generated a count of the number of files in a directory so that a person could check if the number of files that were downloaded equaled the number of files expected.
