How do I completely remove the Dropbox desktop from my Mac ?

I followed basic instructions on how to remove the dropbox application from my mac, However, I still see an empty folder in my user folder under public that is named Dropbox. cannot be deleted?

Is there an uninstaller to wipe any and all files completely? Please review and advise on this request for assistance.

Hey @MRBC001, thanks for posting on our Community and happy Monday!

When you uninstall the desktop app from your computer, your Dropbox folder will become a local copy of the content you had stored in your Dropbox account and you should be safe to delete it, if you no longer need the files inside it that is.

Otherwise, you can copy or move the Dropbox folder's content before deleting it, just to be sure.

I know this is years after the question was posted, but I was going through the same process and looked in my Public folder. The folder you see in there isn't Dropbox but Drop Box. Drop Box is a folder that allows users on a network to drop files into your public folder without having access to your full computer file system. All that to say, that folder is not associated with Dropbox the app but with the operating system.
