I'm trying to send a link to someone and I have the file saved to my dropbox but I don't have the option to share the dropbox link. This just started as I shared a link a few weeks ago.
Hey folks,
This might be because we're interfering with other Finder extensions (Creative cloud etc) you may have running on your computer.
While we're working on fixing the bug with Apple, you *could* disable the other Finder extensions in System Preferences > Extensions > Finder:
Two-finger tap on the track pad worked for me too. It shared the dropbox link. Control-click still does not work. This is a very recent development. Neither log-out and back in nor restart had any effect.
I am running the latest version of Dropbox (39.4.49) and Mac OS 10.13.1.
Same here but on a mac book pro using two fingers on the trackpad works
I tried to do this but it did not work. When will this issue be fixed? I do not like having to share files from the Dropbox website.
I had only the drop box showing in my finder so there was nothing to interfere with the problem. I unticked and reticked but no change.I am on the OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 but have been using it perfectly well since it was installed, so clearly, you solution is not the answer.
I had the same issue within minutes of sharing another link. It seems that dropbox had stalled somehow. I was unable to open any of the options. I opened Task Manager (Windows 10) and clicked End Task for all of the Dropbox extensions listed under Processes. I then restarted Dropbox and everything was right back to normal. I'm sure that a reboot of the machine would have done the same thing but probably would have taken longer...
yeah and they won't even **bleep**ing respond and you can't get a **bleep**ing human. How is this -- my assistant is somehow administrator even though I am paying -- natch, being double and triple charged by them, and they won't **bleep**ing respond. Assholes. On another note, anyone have recommendations for cloud storage once I suspend my dropbox account and get my duplicate charges back?

hello Anvisha, having the same issue. how do i disable the creative cloud finder ext.?
Not sure what happened, but suddenly the links came back... about one hour after the reboot... it works now (hope it will remain working)
Unfortunately this did not work for me. I followed the instructions exactly but never got the link functionality back. I can link from the recently changed files list, but not from finder. OSX version 10.12, Dropbox version 12.4.22
My share dropbox link that allows me to click on and add e-mails to share files in my public box is gone. How do I get it back?
@Daniel R:
please get a grip & relax, the world will thank you (and you will thank yourself later too)
concerning the issue of the disappeared sharing options
This solved the issue for me:
Same issue.
On my MacBook Air (latest OS, latest Dropbox) Finder Integration vanished.
All this did not help: Stopped/restarted Dropbox, Stopped/Restarted Finder Integration, Unlinked Dropbox, Uninstalled Dropbox, Reinstalled Dropbox
I can't believe it ... this issue has been around since Yosemite, and still no official fix in El Capitan!
Use Firefox instead of Safari..that worked for me!
I have the issue from today. I did the following
1. Rebooted
2. Quit Dropbox from System Tray, relaunched from App Menu
Nothing is giving back the Share Menu for Dropbox.
I switched to Firefox from Safari and it works fine
I had the same problem.I clicked on the dropbox icon at the top of the screen the gear icon then quite dropbox
dropbox icon>gear icon>Quit Dropbox
Then reinstalled Dropbox and now its back
I switched from Safari to Firefox and my share button returned so happy!!
I spoke to a senior Apple advisor and that was what he suggested...
Thanks Julia K. that worked for me - thanks all SO MUCH - lifesaver!
The option to copy and attach a link to an email to a client has gone....?? I'm running on Windows 7 so I am assuming an update has taken place and this issue has occurred. I have tried re-booting my PC but nothing has changed. How long are before you guys are planning on sorting out this mjajor issue??
Don't know if this answer if redundant from the others, but I have this problem , too. I can share via email, or airdrop, plus others, but just want to share a link. So don't forget you can do at your dropbox website account - very easily, but, yes, you have to navigate to the website and log in.
Thanks Cyril, that worked for me!
For anyone (like me) who isn't sure how to quit the Dropbox app, it is in the "system tray" (the line of icons where the clock, wifi icon, volume control, etc are), rather than the dock. Right click on the Dropbox icon, and then click on the gear icon in the bottom right corner of the window that drops down. Quit should be an option in the dropdown menu. You can then relaunch Dropbox from the icon in your Applications folder. After doing this, the share option reappeared in the r-click menu from Dropbox files for me.
Same issue after installing El Capitan. I just had to open my dropbox app and re-signin.
Hope that helps, maybe I just got lucky
I have half of this problem -- no "share" option in the dropdown menu from Finder, but files seem to synch properly and Finder displays the green check next to them.
Dropbox is the ONLY Finder extension I have.
I'm running 10.10.5 (Yosemite).
Will definitely consider other file sharing options; this is annoying.
