All of a sudden we can't sync C4D (Cinema 4D) files on shared Dropbox folder

Hi there

Suddenly C4d files won't sync to Dropbox, ie they won't show up at all.

We have Dropbox stored on a machine that we are using as our server. We then access files in that folder from other machines. Windows 11 on all machines

Every other filetype works fine (Photoshop, InDesign etc) These other file types also work fine when placed in the same folder as the Cinema 4d files so it doesn't seem to be a folder issue.

The issue seems to be solely with Cinema 4d files.

We have been working in this way for a very long time and it is suddenly broken.

There was a similar kind of issue last year, we selected “Opt out of Dropbox for Windows Update” and resynced and it fixed the issue..

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that you're able to access and sync your files again!

I'd also like to note that the method you're using to access the Dropbox folder wouldn't be something that we could provide any input on, as you're not using the Dropbox interface or services to access the folder.

To clarify we access the files in the second method you mention:

'directly accessing the Dropbox folder on that Windows 11 server using mounted folders in Windows'

Hi @tom d.31, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Just for clarification, are you all accessing this shared folder via your own Dropbox accounts using shared folders, or are you directly accessing the Dropbox folder on that Windows 11 server using mounted folders in Windows (or via some other method)?

If you can share any error messages, logs or OS/Dropbox specs, that'll help me narrow this down much faster.
