I'm using Dropbox for Business / Teams. I've had major issues lately with Adobe InDesign files where I open a single .indd file, make changes to it and then try to save and it gives the following error:
Cannot save the document. It may be opened by other applications. Close applications and try again. You may also use Save As to save it into a new document.
And at the same time it shows "Read-Only" at the top of the screen where the filename is in Adobe InDesign. But then when I right click the file in Windows Explorer and view properties, Read-Only is unchecked.
Just some background: When you open an InDesign file, it creates a temporary .idlk file to prevent the opening of it by another user. I noticed that this .idlk file gets stuck on an endless sync within Dropbox and never copies over so it's possible it may have something to do with it. This wasn't a problem for 8+yrs until recently, so something changed.
Here's relevant screenshots.
