How can I use Dropbox as a backup for the user content of my PC?

I have a Family Plan an have created a Backup folder where I have store Document and Pictures, 91 Gb. I want to stop syncronizing of the Backup folder  so I have good data available when user data gets corrupt. Periodically I want to get may Backup data synchronized. How can I get this done?

If you've copied or moved the content of those folders into your Dropbox folder, and everything is synced to your account online, you can recover an older version in case your files get corrupted for any reason.

Just to confirm that I understand your request correctly, do you want to be able to back up your Documents and Pictures folders to your Dropbox account, but just periodically?

How are you backing up those folders at the moment? Are you using our backup feature or did you just copy the contents of your Documents and Pictures folders to a folder in your local Dropbox folder?
