File Edit tool is unavailable on the last MP4 file I uploaded?

I upload .JPG and .MP4 (H.264) 1920x1080 files all the time. I discovered there is an Edit toolpn Dropbox that allows Rotating MP4 files. I have a program I edit the audio in the videos with, but it corrupts the file orientation. There are reasons why but I am not asking about that.

Today, for the first time, I discovered the Edit tool is disabled ('greyed out' or unavailable). I have never had that happen previously.

I would like to know if there are reasons for the Edit function to be removed for certain files. It's a larger file (1.47 GB) than I usually upload, so I wonder it that's a possible reason. Some smaller files I uploaded two days ago do not have the Edit function disabled in Dropbox.

I also uploaded an unedited copy, same size. It has the correct video orientation because it was not corrupted by my video editing program. However, the 2nd file also has no Edit function available in Dropbox. That supports my hunch that file size is the problem.

You guessed correctly! You can edit video files directly in your Dropbox account, provided they meet the following requirements from our Help Center article:

File size must be under 1 GB.
Duration must be between 1 second and 10 minutes.
Resolution must be lower than 4K.
Supported formats: MOV, MP4, M4V, MPG, MKV, MJPEG, and AV1.

Since both of your current files exceed 1 GB, that explains why you are running into issues while smaller files work fine. Just to confirm, are you able to edit smaller video files without any trouble?

Actually the two copies I uploaded are NOT identical in size, but both are large. The unedited one is 1.43 GB. The audio-edited one is 1.39 GB.

I didn't try any others tonight but others in the folder still had the Edit tool.
