The “Make Available Offline” feature has suddenly stopped working properly in the Dropbox desktop app on Mac.
Some files and folders simply refuse to download for offline access, no matter how many times I select “Make Available Offline” from the right-click menu.
Other folders are only partially downloaded, with some files and subfolders remaining online-only. As a result, the cloud icon remains next to these items, indicating that their contents have not been fully downloaded.
I have already performed a complete clean reinstall of the Dropbox desktop app, following the official Dropbox instructions - https://help.dropbox.com/installs/advanced-reinstall.
After a fresh start, the app went through the entire syncing process, which took almost an hour. Despite this, the problem remains exactly the same - I still cannot reliably make my files and folders available offline!
The desktop app simply fails to download everything locally, even when explicitly instructed to do so.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is this a known Dropbox bug, and is there an actual working fix?
