For the last week or so the dropbox menu that appears when right-clicking has disappeared (file transfer, make available offline, etc). I'm on Tahoe 26.6.2 and the legacy version of dropbox. I've tried…. * Turning off Adobe Core Sync - made no difference * Reinstalling Dropbox - worked until I turned on my laptop the next time Also have CleanMyMac and BackBlaze installed if those could be at all relevant. CleanMyMac is switched off for file provider though.

Do you have any other cloud service apps running in the background in your Finder settings, aside from Adobe?

If you can share any error messages, logs or Dropbox specs, that'll help me narrow this down much faster.

Under Login Items & Extensions > File Providers, CleanMyMac (turned off), Core Sync and Dropbox are the only ones listed, but let me know if there is somewhere else I should check? Dropbox version is 269.4.4231. Haven't see any error messages or logs. I can still access dropbox transfer through the right click > standard finder share option > dropbox transfer but all the usual right click dropbox menu items have disappeared

Is the Dropbox Transfer option shown in folders inside the Dropbox folder, or outside the Dropbox folder?

It's available in both - can access from both a file in dropbox folder + one that's just saved on desktop.

Could you try the following steps to see if this helps?

Save your work and quit all programs.
Completely close any third-party cloud apps (e.g., Adobe, BackBlaze).
Click the Apple logo in the top left and select System Settings.
1. Navigate to Extensions and click Finder extensions.
2. Uncheck the boxes next to any other programs.
Quit Dropbox:
1. Click the Dropbox icon in the menu bar.
2. Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) and select Quit Dropbox.
Relaunch Finder:
1. Click the Apple logo in the top left, select Force Quit.
2. Choose Finder and click Relaunch.
Restart Dropbox.

Let me know if you see the context menus again.

Hi I have exactly the same problem, with the same version of Mac OS (Tahoe 26.6.2) , done everything suggested above, and the contextual menu does not come back, even after restarting Mac, quitting / relaunching Dropbox, re installing dropbox, turned off ALL apps in the extensions > finder extensions menu, etc.

Could you let me know which version of the Dropbox app is giving you this issue?

Do other context menu options appear for you (apart from Dropbox ones)?

If you have any security/anti-malware apps installed, can you please close them temporarily and let me know if that helps?

Any solution here as I have officially lost all right-click availability and also the Dropbox header in a finder window (button still works but it says "No options available." I have tried all the resets and Extensions but nothing is working. All of my other context menus work but nothing from Dropbox.

No other context menu options appear, except from standard MacOS options (see screen capture)
On my Mac, I have Malwarebytes and Sophos home activated. I can't close them, just uninstall them. S
I have Google Drive, FinderHelper, OneDrive, Deepl, Core Sync (Adobe) installed on my Mac, but all of them are turned off in the General / Extensions / File providers control panel

My configuration did not change. I used to have access to Dropbox contextual menus.

I've followed all instructions mentionned in the discussion above and can't solve the problem, even after re staring, and re installed Dropbox.

In theory, is it possible to combine contextual menus for Dropbox and Google Drive?

@steve_straus, can you try the following steps next, and let me know of the results?

If you’re using any sort of antivirus, anti-malware or anti-ransomware software, please make sure to pause it temporarily, reinstall the Dropbox app and make sure it’s running the latest stable app version (currently v270.4).
Right-click on a file outside of your local Dropbox folder and confirm that Dropbox Transfer appears in your context menu.

Keep me posted.

Recently the feature to right click a file to call up the Transfer File option has not been available.. In fact the entire list of dropbox options that were previously available with this operation no longer appear in either the initial view or the 'show more' option.

Dropbox is running and I even reinstalled DB to see if that was the fix, but to no avail.. The feature does however work in a browser.

Anyone else experiencing this ?

Is Dropbox running? As in if you add files to Dropbox do they sync to the web

Apart from what Mark asked above, can you also let me know which version of the Dropbox app you're using and what the sync status is?

You can see the sync status by hovering over the small Dropbox icon in your taskbar.

Per the Dropbox website, the most up-to-date version for the Mac is 268.4.4124 not 270.4. I don't have any anti-anything on my machine either. I see nothing about Dropbox Transfer for any file on my machine regardless of location.

When I click on my preference panel via the App, I get this banner at the top. I just upgrades my personal account to business and this hasn't gone away after many, many days. How do I reset my account preferences to eliminate this warning?

@steve_straus, if you click on this link and wait a bit till the desktop app gets updated, do you see any difference in your Dropbox app version after that?

How about the banner you’re seeing and your missing context menu options?

This is the same version that I have already reinstalled (268.4) so nothing has changed since reinstalling using the new installer from the link.

Hi Hannah, Sync stats is up to date and I have auto update on. Currently it running 270.4.3216

Same issue cropped up today and I'm basically at a standstill with work because of the context menu disappearing in Mac Tahoe. I've tried all of the suggested recommendations from @Jay and @Nancy with no change. Looking across the community forum, this seems like a relatively common issue. Here are relevant screengrabs of my setup and the icons and menus that I can see and more importantly not see. I hope someone has a solution that works for this. I am running the latest version of dropbox and Tahoe. Thanks!!

Do you have any other cloud syncing programs that have their own syncing icons or context menus?

Could you try temporarily quitting out of them from the system tray icons near the clock? This could include OneDrive, Google Drive, Adobe, and other such programs.

Once that's done, could you close File Explorer and re-open to see if the context menu items appear again?

Transfer is working at the portal level

One Drive was running and I've now disabled it. I also removed it from start up

Did a restart but still no option for dropbox at explorer.

Yes Mark, DB is all working as normal in every other way. I will note that after I did the reinstall the feature worked briefly and then no more..

Hey @steve_straus, just to make sure we got everything right, if you uninstall the Dropbox app, restart your computer and then reinstall it, does the banner in the preferences go away?

Just deleted and reinstalled the app and nothing has changed. Still nothing.

I've screengrabbed everything I do have and I turned off everything I can think of and followed the instructions. But still no dropdown menu items…. gah… thanks for all the help. I really need this working again soon.
