It used to be that if a file was online only and was not currently synced to the computer, when a software tool would try to access the file, it would automatically download and sync that file.
For example, I am often working on Ableton music sessions that involve a ton of sample libraries I own that take up far more space than my drive can accommodate all at once. It used to be that if I had made some of these files/folders online only, when I would open a session, the needed files for that session would automatically sync to the computer as I loaded a project and the software tried to access them.
For a few years now it has been changed such that when I open a session, many files that are being used give errors since they are zero byte shadow files, and when I have a lot of different files across many folders being used I now have to browse and find and sync every individual file manually to get the project to load, which takes a great deal more effort.
I am mainly working on a Mac, and I think my PC might still automatically sync the files. I am requesting that this be re-instigated on the Mac version.
