Dropbox crashes my PC since the last update, on Windows 11 it reboots the machine immediately

Hello,

Today on may 29, while trying to move files from windows 11 desktop to dropbox, dropbox crashed my PC so quickly there wasn't even a BSOD.

It happened 3x in a row, after which I used task manager to discern the culprit: Dropbox. Every time it booted and made connection the PC would instantly crash within 30 seconds of booting.

I ended the dropbox service manually in task manager every time it came up, and the crashes stopped.

There was an update done on Dropbox on May 28 on my system (when I was asleep). There were no issues prior to this update.

My dropbox is currently running on version 254.4.2518

I cannot have dropbox breaking my machine. Please assist, thank you!

Yes, it's normal to have those processes running on your Windows computer @DrpSuus. These are related to different functions/features of the app and are needed for the app to work properly.

That said, is the app still causing your computer to shut down abruptly after reinstalling it?

Are you able to access the app's preferences at all?

I just did the reinstall but I am not sure if it was successful because I got 0 notifications that it was, it just quit installing and that was it. I did see it quietly closing on the processes tab and then restarting.

Here is what it looks like, is it supposed to have this many files up at once running?

Reinstalling the Dropbox desktop application this way wouldn't delete any of the files in your Dropbox folder, it would only reinstall the app itself.

There might be a small re-indexing of the files to confirm that no changes were made since the reinstallation, however, this would only be temporary.
