What are the upload and download limits for a large Veracrypt file?

hallo i asked the other time in general about upload / download specifications if there is a filesize limit, they answered me quickly by providing useful links (which didnt help me cause i wanted to ask something else later on) and then they closed my case without asking me if i am done. well i wasnt done and i wish doesnt happen again until "I" close the case.

the thing is that i want to buy dropbox but a have an anormous file encrypted by veracrypt wiith 23.588 files and 1880 folders in it. its not a ZIP file its a veracrypt file so i ask again i need to know if i will be able to upload the single file which is 300GB and download it any time i want. DO NOT provide me any links i NEED a straight answer about that. YES or NO fact.

please do not close my case again without asking me if i comprehended what u r telling me. what i ve read to the link provided me was this:

"You can only download a folder if it’s smaller than 250 GB (uncompressed) and contains fewer than 10,000 total files. Files in nested folders still count toward the 10,000 file limit. Folders download as compressed .zip files are limited to 250 GB. Individual files don't have a size limit"

which doesnt give me the answer i need cause i have a veracryt file not zip file (maybe its my fault i cannot understand it please explain)

so i ask again i need to know if i will be able to upload the file which is 300GB and download it any time i want, thats all YES or NO thing and explain if u want.

Thanks for the clarification, as it is a single file, the maximum file size that can be uploaded it 2 TB, and there is no size limit for downloading files from your Dropbox account on the site when logged in (and not using shared links to download files).

We do recommend using the Dropbox desktop application to ensure that large files are uploaded and downloaded (synced in other words) successfully due to the file size.

Hi @andreas781, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Could you clarify exactly if the Veracrypt file is a single file on its own, as in test.vera or something to that effect, regardless about it containing others files or folders inside it?

Will you also be uploading and downloading the file via the website only, or would you be using the Dropbox desktop application to sync the file across?

This will help us to determine if you would be able to download the file at a later date without any issues.

I'm not sure why you're focusing on the limits of downloading a folder when you said it's a FILE. Since I'm not a dropbox employee and beholden to your demands I will provide a link, https://help.dropbox.com/sync/upload-limitations, which makes it very clear that the limit for uploading is 2 TB, well within the confines of your 300 GB file. As it would make no sense to support the uploading of 2 TB and not be able to download the file it is safe to say that the download limit would also be 2 TB. But the section you quoted makes it clear that there is no size limit for downloading individual files

The limits are as have been said - the limitations linked are upload limits. That isnt the download one, which is different.

The download limitation is as Jay mentioned and as is detailed here:

So the limitations on downloading is:

You can only download a folder if it’s smaller than 250 GB (uncompressed) and contains fewer than 10,000 total files. Files in nested folders still count toward the 10,000 file limit.
Folders download as compressed .zip files are limited to 250 GB.
There is no limit in single file downloads.

This is why Jay asked how the vercrypt file is made up. Is it a single file or multiple ones - as it makes a difference.

I was returning the energy of OP which was quite entitled and rude.

Context is king and both you and Jay are missing the fact that OP said many times it is a file. Examples being "if i will be able to upload the single file" and "upload the file which is 300GB". For the record, a veracrypt file is a disk image. It's a single file.

So while you're correct that it makes a difference if it's a single file or not the answer was available in the message and a simple google search. My response was addressing the actual question and directing OP away from the red herring of downloading a folder.

veracrypt file is ONE file alone which contains files above your limits (over 10,000?) thats why i am stuck here wondering if all is ok for me to upload that single veracrypt file and download it if nececery..

i always use the desktop application

maybe its clear for some people but not for me i need to be absolutely certain. thats why i need a yes or no answer and not giving me only links to read. of course you should but i need a straight answer also cause thats the way i work my files
