My Dropbox app keeps syncing and it's slowing down my computer

My dropbox started syncing in the morning and 12 hours later it still does. Also the folder from my partition just became with 400gb smaller and keeps decreasing. I have the situation on a Dell running Windows11. No update has been done yestarday but the dropbox syncing is making almost imposible any work on the station and also I can't work on any files from dropbox.

Can you please hover over the Dropbox icon in your system tray with your mouse and let me know what the sync status and version of the Dropbox app is?

Also, can you clarify the following?

Is this folder inside your Dropbox folder or somewhere else?

I seem to have Dropbox 244.4.6580

Indexing 34865 files

Uploading 5349 files

Downloading 34900 files…

My offline dropbox is not taking any space on myC partition. It just vanished and all the files are online and can be opened if online and after it takes time to download. I just don’t understand what is happening. I have 3d and cad files I can’t work on because they take even 30 minutes to open because they are not open from my computer folder but from cloud

My whole dropbox folder behaves like this and all my offline folders are not anymore since I can’t open if I stop the internet connection.

Now it started again. It looked like a few folders were ok (with green check mark) but they are again having the syncing mark and when I hoover over the dropbox mark it is now downloading ~ 48000 files. Please let me know what I can do. I am so terrified about losing all the files and the folders beacause the 3d work depends very much on the specific path they have and I need to keep the folders as they are.

I completely understand your concern about your files, but we'll try our best to figure this out.

Can you let me know if you remember if something happened before this started happening this morning?

For example, was there some kind of update on the Dropbox app or on your OS?

Also, what is the location of your Dropbox folder? Is it in an internal or an external drive?

The location of my dropbox folder is on My computer/ C /Users/Ioana. I did not move it recently.

My OS has the microsoft updates suspended since last month because some windows update seems to have a problem with my video slot . If dropbox did some updates on its own I don't know.

I did try to make a few folders online only in order to free some space on my partition.
