Question or Issue
When navigating in Windows Explorer within the Dropbox directory, Windows Explorer will reliably hang (fail to navigate, spinning cursor, idling progress bar) and fail to complete the navigation for periods of several minutes to until system restart.
The following details may help you find a solution:
- The issue persists whether the Dropbox process is running or not, before or after the navigation attempts.
- My dropbox directory is NOT on the system drive.
- Uninstalling Dropbox IMMEDIATELY resolves explorer being hung - all stalled navigations will complete during the uninstallation process.
- The issue began immediately after the update that moved Dropbox to standard Windows icon styles.
