I can't upload/sync a file to my Dropbox account from my laptop.

Hi, I've been trying to upload a document to dropbox from my laptop so that I can work on it from my ipad. However, it seems to be stuck syncing and not loading. I've checked my firewall and it allows dropbox. My memory is almost full but not. I can't download the dropbox, and I can't delete whatever dropbox I have on my laptop. Any info would be helpful.

Can you tell me what’s the syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app? How much free space do you currently have?

Finally, can you clarify what you mean when saying you can’t download the Dropbox, or delete whatever Dropbox you have on your laptop?

Hi Nancy,

It is in a continual syncing status. I thought I had the app, but apparently, I just linked a Microsoft account. My current memory is 2.01 of 2.75gb.

As for deleting, I've gone into the computer settings and tried deleting dropbox and it said it was unable to delete. In trying to install the app, I tried to install the app and i was unable to install the app.

Thanks for sharing more info! So, if I get this right, the Dropbox app is already installed on your computer, but you can’t remove it from your device in order to reinstall it. Does this sound correct?

Can you send me a screenshot of what you see exactly when trying to uninstall it? I’d also like a screenshot of the continual syncing status that you mention.

Finally, what’s the size of the file you’re trying to upload to Dropbox?

The dropbox icon is not in the corner and when i go to the start menu and search dropbox app, it will not open.

I'd suggest trying an advanced reinstall of the Dropbox application. Also, try to uninstall it through Control Panel/Uninstall a program, rather than through Settings/Apps.

Honestly, I don't know what happened! I have done those steps several times with no luck. I would go through task manager and quit all programs running dropbox, then I would restart the computer and the same thing would happen. This time, everything loaded up perfectly. I even have the dropbox app symbol in the tray. Thanks guys!
