Hi there, I recently purchased a new Acer computer. I installed dropbox, logged in with my existing ID, and can access the files no problem - how do I redeem the 100gb promotional deal?
Hey @DJOS85, thanks for reaching out to our Community.
Can you check out this article and make sure you've followed all the correct steps?
Make sure to also check the FAQs at the bottom of the page, to make sure you're eligible.
Let me know what you find.
HI Hannah, yes I have looked at the article and FAQ and followed all of the steps. The computer is brand new, although I am an existing dropbox user, and I've successfully logged into dropbox using the pre installed app. Please advise on how to proceed.
Have you previously had a promo space increase?
HI Mark, I have not.
Hi from me too, @DJOS85. Can we go ahead and log a ticket for you next? We can message you to the email address that’s linked to your Community profile here.
HI Nancy, yes please do.
You’re all set, @DJOS85! Please reply to my email, when you see it.
Hi Nancy, I have the same exact issue. I got a brand new Acer Predator Laptop and the Dropbox deal popped up. I logged in and it said I got it. But now when I go back into it it says 2GB. I think it created a new dropbox account somehow with the same email because if I login on my desktop pc or phone, it shows the same email but my name in English and on my laptop it shows my first name in Italian. It's very weird. I am American and in America but my first name is Italian. I am pointing this out because I think it created two accounts from my email.
Hey @ComicConfan! From your post, I also get the impression that a new Dropbox account has been created.
However, since one email address can only be tied to one Dropbox account and not more, I’d like you to compare both of them once again and make sure you’re seeing indeed the exact same email address in both cases (keep in mind that even an extra dot in one of the email addresses means that they’re not the same).
Hi again, @ComicConfan! I hope that my previous suggestion helped you figure out what was happening.
If you still need assistance though, I’ll be right here.
