What is the best way to migrate my OneDrive files to Dropbox?

Hello,

I plan on moving around 250GBs worth of files from my OneDrive to my Dropbox.

Is there a tool or anything that I can use to help with this migration?

Is there a recommended procedure to run through?

Would tools like Robocopy suffice?

Dropbox has no migration feature. You'll either need to download your files from Dropbox and upload them to OneDrive, or use a third-party service such as MultCloud to move the files.

Hi everyone,

I've been searching and searching a way to transfer all my cloud from Onedrive to Dropbox for a long while now, but I can't find a way to do it other than downloading 1,5TB of data from Onedrive and uploading it to Dropbox manually. Can you please advise me an easier way? I want to get rid of Onedrive entirely and close my account.

The weird thing is, In Onedrive, there is an option in my storage page which asks me if I want to transfer anything from Dropbox as well as some other cloud services. It's just one click and takes me to my Dropbox very easily to select what to import from Dropbox, but not visa versa; it doesn't allow me to transfer anything from Onedrive to Dropbox. If one-way integration is possible for Onedrive, why can't I find anything to do it on Dropbox?

Hey @Dimitrat, welcome to our Community!

Keep in mind that Dropbox doesn't have a transfer or connection utility that allows you to migrate your OneDrive files to us.

With that being said, there are plenty of third-party services available that might meet your needs. However I can't officially recommend any specific ones. I'd suggest checking other reviews on the Community to find the best fit for you.

Otherwise you would need to download the files from OneDrive and upload them to Dropbox like you already mentioned. If you have both OneDrive and Dropbox installed on your computer and you're syncing all of your files, it could be as simply as dragging the files from the one folder to the other and allowing everything to sync.

Just do a Google search for cloud transfer. There are many, many third-party services, such as MultCloud, that can do this for you.

I had the exact same problem some while back trying to migrate 1.7TB from OneDrive to Dropbox using my Win11 PC. The only cost affective way was to download all data (Keep On My Device) using OneDrive.
Then Install Dropbox to its own separate folder using the advance install settings, but do not select any options like back up etc.
Once installed you will have both OneDrive and Dropbox installed on the same PC, this will allow you to drag and drop between both OneDrive & Dropbox folders. Once finished uninstall OneDrive
1.7TB took me two days with my fibre connection.

What I will mention though is, Dropbox seems to be in transition phase ... I have since just this week moved back to OneDrive as Dropbox seems to have lots of niggly issues which made me feel uneasy, however it does have the best sync engine. :-)

Just be aware that's all ... all the best
