Can the issue come from re-linking a previously unlinked mac device? I renamed old Dropbox folder in this mac to backup_dropbox to avoid interferences and deleted all local files but in both Macs files keep syncing for ever...

Can you also send me a screenshot of the syncing status you mention?
How many files are there currently in your local Dropbox folder? You can double check this by right-clicking on it and selecting “Get info” (feel free to send me a screenshot of that window, as well).
Let me know when you’ve got more updates.
Also experiencing a similar issue here. My dropbox is taking way longer than usual to upload files. Only uploading 100 files, and it's taking 10 hours to upload 10 files. Version is V215.4.7202. Can I get an assist too please Nancy? Thanks!

The first thing we want to check, is the OS you're using on your Mac. Are you on Mac Sonoma, as the OP?
Have you done a speed test on the computer, by any chance? While you're at it, feel free to let me know the app's exact syncing status at the moment, please.
Also, can you check the app's preferences with these steps, to make sure syncing speed is not limited there?
