Can only access folder from Dropbox online but not in my file explorer

I recently added Dropbox to my desktop. I have one file that has been on my dropbox forever that displays online and in my file explorer, but I have one folder that has recently been shared with me and will not appear in my file explorer only online. I know I can download the file but I am afraid it will not sync once things are added too it and I really need this to work efficiently for work. Any response is welcomed!

Rename the folder and make sure it doesn't use any characters that would be incompatible with your operating system.

This worked thank you! The file had an asterisk at the front. I took it out and it updated immediately!
