Ive got an issue with the upgrade. Anyone else have the same problem? Slow in sync, VERY slow in making the connection and very useless box that DOES NOT tell me which files it does'nt not recognize.
There isn't a solution. The sync is slow and incomplete files are not shown on any screen, even if you have the ORIGINAL file (and you can see it) on an external drive. I will have to either seek a new computer OR find another provider.
I now have 212.4.5767
Sorry to hear about this, @Road_warrior.
Can you let us know what your computer's OS and version is?
Have you restarted your computer ever since this started happening?
And can you please also send us a screenshot of that box you're referring to?
Thanks in advance.
Window 10
Yes many times. Seems to be the same LONG problem
Cant get the screen image (Snagit) to cut over
Other system resources are CPU 94%, Memory 85% and Disk 20%
@Road_warrior wrote: Other system resources are CPU 94%, Memory 85% and Disk 20%
What is taking up all that CPU time? Sort by CPU and it should put the CU heavy tasks at the top of the window.
CPU issues are:
Tray Assistant 25% to 65%
Antimalware Service Executable 35% to 45%
Microsoft Software Protection Service 25% to 40%
Threat Protection Service 15%
I have now set Window Threat Protection to only once a day so Tray Protection is now about 65%
This is the Tray Assistant. There is not button that tell me how to get a list of the corrupted files. There is there nothing on my web page. So how to get a list of the files?
Hey @Road_warrior - thanks for the screenshot and the additional information.
Could you try clicking on the app's icon and then on the "View sync issues" button to see if there's anything listed there?
I'm having a similar problem with this latest upgrade on Linux. I have the problem with both Ubuntu 24.04 and SUSE Tumbleweed distributions
It seems to be on a (endless?) loop of indexing, uploading and downloading. I received an error that it lacked permission to Dropbox.txt. I input my super user password with seemed to satisfy the popup. Then it proceeded to it's endless loop.
Screenshot....
Hello, sorry probably not the right place to start a ticket.... I also posted this as a reply to another user with a similar issue.

Screenshot
When I click, a new screen appears but it is blank except for Like or Dont Like.
meh. It's a dropbox link and shows viewable. Try pasting...
May not be valuable other than confirm the version and updating message that never ends
Hey @Road_warrior!
Did you check your activity tray that Walter suggested in your app?
Also hello @Tod-D!
Is it possible that you have more than 300k files in your Dropbox folder?
That might slow down syncing and will generally cause the performance of the Dropbox app to deteriorate.
And you can also increase the bandwidth that the Dropbox app uses, by following the steps here, to speed up syncing. Have you tried that?
Let me know how it goes.
Hello,
I have about 75k files
Connection is running about 250Mbps per Ookla
Curiously, I have two machines running Ubuntu 22.04 and they seem to be running fine.
Three machines running Ubuntu 24.04 + SUSE Tumbleweed and they are all having the problem.
It's possible there was something else in the update that caused this...?
Hi @Tod-D - thanks for the additional information.
Could you try signing out of your account through the app's preferences and then back in and let us know if this persists?
Thanks!
Thanks for the screenshot @Road_warrior - much appreciated.

If syncing gets stuck again after that, let us know and we'll reach out via email to investigate further.

Same issues. Trying to sync 332 files that it is unable to sync and I am trying to correct them. Any advice?
I let Dropbox run on one SUSE OS all night after stopping it and restarting it via command line. It did finally complete it's syncing and seems to be running normally. I am running another OS and letting it run for the day, then I will reboot into the first one and see if it stays "happy".
Stay tuned.
The second SUSE OS also completed and both seem to be performing normally even after reboots.
Thanks for your help!
Now have a message:
"Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\Dropbox\Upgrade\DropxboxUpgrade.exe R6030 - CRT not initialised"
Do what now?
Hi @Road_warrior!
According to Microsoft, the reason for this issue could be related to antivirus programs interfering with DLL loading.
Can you take a look at the article here, to see if it helps?
Thanks Megan
The problem rectified itself, so no issues with your help screen. It was not helpful.
The program now tells me that we have "333 files unable to the sync" so how do I get to see the names of them and installed them from OUTSIDE of Dropbox?
Hey @Road_warrior, I'm afraid there's no way to see the names of the files that cannot sync.
However, you should be able to click the "See issues" button to see your troubleshooting options.
Also, can you please clarify what you mean by "install them from outside of Dropbox"?
Do you want to remove them from the Dropbox folder?
As there is no way to see what can not be sync, seems this is a page is a waste of everybody time. PERHAPS YOU CAN PASTE TO THE UPGRADE PAGE? Dont other people have issues?
The 'See Issues' is just a small screen where I have added this but it is only blank with a 'Like' and 'Unlike' button so no use to anyone.
I have a copy of everything in Dropbox every month, so I was going to copy from the external hard drive. But seeing as I dont know, seems to be wasting my time.
Do you see the same thing if you click on your avatar and then on "view sync issues"?
Not sure what you mean by 'my avatar'. I don't think I have one.
Dropbox starts automatically on sign on. After that, I can see what it is doing on 'Show hidden icons" and I can see what Dropbox is doing although there is an issue with this 'Main Screen' against what I then see on opening. Is this what you mean?
Sorry, @Road_warrior, I meant your initials/profile pic, that you see when clicking on your Dropbox icon.
I am not part of a network. I am a computer and all my colleagues use Dropbox (since 2017) to link into assignments and then logging out afterwards (I mentioned this and now you have a mechanise for this!)
Dropbox starts automatically on sign on on my comupter. After that, I can see what it is doing on 'Show hidden icons" and I can see what Dropbox is doing.
I don't think this answers your question, but my support since 2017 has survived!
Can you clarify and send me a screenshot of the app's current syncing status @Road_warrior?
Can you please check? I found this article about NordVPN which I also use and have disabled the Threat Protection Pro
Threat Protection Service is hitting 100% cpu usage and IDK why. I'm using a surface pro 8 that's running windows 11. Does anybody have an idea of what's causing this? : r/nordvpn
