It's a tab located at the top of the Preferences window. If it's not there, take a screenshot to show us what you have on the window.
The Backup tab at the indicated placed is missing. Do you want a screenshot?

System: Kubuntu 22.04
Dropbox daemon version: 210.4.4854Dropbox command-line interface version: 2019.02.14
I reinstalled dropbox. I tried to upgrade to no avail.
I installed to
Dropbox daemon version: 210.4.4854Dropbox command-line interface version: 2020.03.04
Dropbox preferences still doesn't offer Backup option.

The backup feature is only available on Windows and macOS.
I didn´t enable the Dropbox Backup Option. It looks like I have to choose a backup option first?
"Manage Backups" --> "Open Backup Setting"
I get an "Open with .. " window to select an "x-scheme-handler/ dropbox-client"
Not very clear all.
