Dropbox moved folders that I had left offline to online and I have to download everything again. The HD has space occupied but it is not downloaded
Hi @Fabio_Mota, welcome to our Community!
Would you mind clarifying your second sentence, please?
When you say that the hard drive space was occupied but not downloaded, are you referring to an external hard drive or not?
Is it possible that your hard drive space was getting full, hence the app decided to move files to online-only, by any chance?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!
Yes. Its a external hard drive. My HD is 6 TB full out of a total of 13 TB, that is, it is not full
Thanks Megan
Any solution? I have 3 terabytes of material that I need right now and Dropbox left everything online without my permission. Now I have to download everything again, but my HD indicates that this material is taking up space. Please help me
Hey @Fabio_Mota - sorry to jump in here, but could you send us as couple of screenshots of what's troubling you so that we can make sure we're on the same page?
Have you tried making your files available offline on your computer by the way and it's not working?
I send a prints
I don't see any syncing icons on your files in the screenshot @Fabio_Mota
Are those files in your Dropbox folder?
Also, what is your computer's exact OS version and the status and version of the Dropbox desktop app installed there as shown in your menu bar/system tray?
Yes, These files are in my Dropbox folder. My OS is Windows 11
And is the app 'up to date' or still syncing perhaps @Fabio_Mota ?
Do you see the option to make your files available offline on your computer now?
Yes, all the options appear, as if the synchronization was starting again. But I had selected the folders that would be offline yesterday, but today they came back online. And there are 3 TB of footage to sync again
I dont know whats this icon mean. File online?
This icon is not coming from Dropbox @Fabio_Mota - do you happen to have any other 3rd party apps that might be syncing or backing up your files like One Drive perhaps?
If so, you might need to close them or uninstall them completely to bring back the Dropbox syncing icons.
I uninstalled OneDrive. I give up, I think there is no solution. I'll have to sync everything again. Thank you for the help
Sure thing, Fabio. Let us know if anything else comes up!
