How do I back up DropBox? I cannot enable Docs and Desktop for iCloud . Please help me backup
. I am using a MacBook Pro.
Hi @busherland1, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you clarify what you mean by backing up Dropbox?
Do you mean enabling the Dropbox Backup feature?
This will help me to assist further!
Thank you for responding. I have been working with Apple for hours and we concluded that I cannot sync my Mac with my iPad because I have Dropbox. Apple has advised me to "disconnect" Dropbox so I can sync my 2 products. I do not want to lose what I have on Dropbox. Would I be able to save or back up my Dropbox contents? And would I be able to resume access to the contents on Dropbox if I took it off my computer?
You can sign out of the Dropbox desktop application from your account, which would keep the files safe on the site, and any changes made on the computer wouldn't affect the site.
I do not have the app for Dropbox amongst all the apps on my home screen. It is only at the top bar on my screen. It only offers "Quit" as opposed to your recommendation of "sign out" I am reluctant bc I don't want to delete it before backing up my info.
Is there a number I can call for tech help?
Currently, we only provide incoming phone support for team admins of Dropbox Business subscriptions.
Since the icon has an X on it, this means the app isn't working for some reason. Could you try clicking the app once and let me know what message you see on the bottom left?
This is what I see. This is always there when I click on it.
Okay, it looks like your account is overquota, this means it isn't syncing any edits or new files to or from the site.
Just to check again, have you enabled the Backup feature? You can see any backups on this page on the site.
Hello Again,
I am hoping you can help me with this issue by the end of today because you are probably not there over the weekend. I need my computers for a business trip next week. Thank you for your help. Brenda
I do not have that grid when I click on the icon. The previous picture I sent shows the entire screen.
All the "Tessie" ones are from my daughter's wedding, so I hope not have to discard them. It also says "waiting to sync" next to most of these Tessie.." listings, but at the bottom, it says "upgrade", which I do not want to do.
I also get this message when trying to do the Back up steps
Since you appear to be out of quota, and your backup is on, the best option would be to delete the computer backup, as you don't wish to upgrade.
Have you tried clicking the delete backup button, which will move the folders back to their old location away from the Dropbox folder?
Sat. My home screen is still wiped clean and I cannot reverse the backup. How can I do this?
Sorry, could you clarify what you mean? What happens exactly when you choose to delete the backup?
