I have issues with sync, but if I restart my macbook, all the files will be synced.
How should I solve this problem without restarting my macbook many times a day?
Hey @langzi, sorry to hear you're having issues with this and thanks for the screenshot!
May I ask if you installed the desktop app with admin privileges in the first place and if you've also granted Dropbox full disk access as outlined here?
If you could also clarify your device's exact OS and the app's version and status, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
I deleted the app and reinstalled app, same issue. Only when I restart the computer, it will sync.
The McOS is Ventura 13.2.1, and app version is 177.4.5399 and I checked all folders to sync.
The files that are not synced are WPS's excel editing, but when I create a new WPS excel it will sync to all devices.
Hi @langzi, is this occurring for files in any folder, or just specific folders?
Are they shared or private folders?
It happened to all folders, wps excel and wps word don't sync on macbook.
But they sync NORMALLY on my iMac.
Hey @langzi, just to clarify: does the file sync from the desktop app to the web, yet it gives you an error or it doesn't sync at all, until you restart the app?
Yes, I installed dropbox desktop app, I opened and edited the files using WPS app on my laptop, but when I saved the file, it told me sync error.
I checked the file on the dropbox webpage, not updated to cloud.
Restarting the dropbox wouldn't help, only restarting the laptop solved the issue.
BTW, the files that have issues are in the shared folders.
I am using iMac, two windows laptops and macbook, it only happens to my macbook.
Thank you for your help.
HI @langzi, are you still experiencing this issue on your device?
Hi yes,
No solutions yet.
Thanks, in order to look into this matter in more detail, would it be possible to reach out to the email associated with your forum profile?
HI YES PLEASE
Hey @langzi, I just emailed you, so we'll continue there!
I am experiencing this same issue - Is there a solution yet
Hi @rastrodave, welcome to our Community!
Can you clarify the OS you're currently on, along with the version of the Dropbox app that you have installed?
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps on your end? Just asking, to make sure we're on the same page here.
Let me know more!
Ventura 13.4.1 / I dont know the version - I use drop box as a folder
I set the permissions as indicated / rebooted
I have been using dropbox for 10+ years with no issues til now
When I reboot - files do sync
Is there a fix
Hi @rastrodave, I would like for you to locate your Dropbox icon on the menu, next to your WiFi and hover your mouse there and let me know the version, and syncing status, please.
v179.4.4985
Thanks for this info, @rastrodave.
Since there's a new version of the Dropbox application that just came out, can you update to that, and see if that resolves your issue?
Installed the new version - still will only sync with a restart
In that case, can we send you an email, so we can investigate this further?
yes
Great, I just emailed you, Dave, so we'll continue there!
@Hannah Hi my problem has not been solved, could you please assist?
Hey @langzi, sorry to hear about that.
I remember you were in contact with our support team about this; did you follow all their suggestions?
I see your ticket was closed, but you never replied to the agent with your results.
Hi yes, I did but nothing changed. I deleted dropbox and wps, and reinstalled both, still same issue. Ben didn't reply my email since Aug.
Hi @langzi, could you try replying to the previous email you received for further assistance on this matter?
Hi I emailed 3 times but no replies.
If you're not receiving a reply, have you tried to send a new support ticket on the Dropbox site directly when logged into your account?
Hi yes, still no reply and closed my tickets, could you please let someone contact me with a solution?
No worries @langzi!
I just created a new ticket on my end for you, see you there!
Have you solved your sync problem?
