Backup a password protected external drive

Hi!

I'm new to the community, so excuse me if I messed up with the category!

I use an external ssd as a extension storage of my computer and I want it to be backed up. I also need this ssd to be password protected as I'll be carrying it around. Does Dropbox backup work normally with password protected external drives?

I'll also make a test with a small pen-drive to check it out as I didn't find an answer on google. I'll let you know!

When you say password protected external drives, are you referring to encrypted drives or you had something else in mind?

Hi Walter, thank you that's the information I needed! I was talking about an encrypted drive. Sadly Encrypted APFS are not supported on Dropbox, I will try to find a different solution. Thanks again!
