I have 4 different user accounts on my Mac. How can I use Dropbox Backup to backup files for each user?

Whichever user account you were signed in to when you activated the backup feature would be the one being backed up.
Hi @Homer, let's jump right into this!
Using Backup with 4 different user profiles is not currently possible with our Backup feature, I'm afraid.
We appreciate your feedback, though, and I will pass this to our team.
If you have any more questions, please let us know.
Okay, if backup of multiple user accounts on one Mac is currently not possible using Dropbox Backup, can you clarify which account it is currently backing up? Is it only the user account I used to sign into Dropbox Backup?
Hi again @Homer!
If you need access to two different Dropbox accounts on the same computer the best option is to create a second user account within your operating system for the second Dropbox account. However, you would need to log out of one user account and log in to the other account to switch Dropbox accounts. This may or may not be convenient for your needs.
Thanks!
Using the signing in and out method, could I backup different user accounts on the Mac to the same single Dropbox account I have?
Hi @Homer, yes, technically, it could be possible, since a different user account on the same machine would appear as a different device on the site.
Bear in mind that the accounts would only be backed up when you're logged into that user account. It doesn't happen in the background when you're signed into the other user account on the machine.
Actually, that should work fine for my purposes, since 2 of the Mac User accounts are little used, and I mainly want a backup in case of a problem accessing my data. Thanks!
Hey @Homer, if you need anything else, give us a shout!
