I keep on getting this message whenever I try to access the folders desktop, downloads, documents. How do we fix this ???
The folder “Desktop” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.

Could you send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting so that we can have a visual too?
Also, what is the desktop app's version and status as shown in your menu bar/system tray?
Can you access those folders normally from your backups page?

Hello, you can add the right with the terminal on macOS :My folder Desktop can be found in ~/Dropbox/Mac/Desktop
To add the rights :$ cd ~/Dropbox/Mac
$ chmod +x Desktop
