Stop auto downloads

Question

Other users have asked about disabling the feature where dropbox asks to download the entire contents of every usb device I connect to my computer.  I have clicked on several posts but ALL of the answers are totally out of date.  It's not that I haven't tried.....I've been clicking for an hour.

NONE of the photos or instructions match my dropbox account.

Please give new fresh instructions to disable automatic downloads from usb devices.

I have basic dropbox.

Hi @Suzanne G.3, could you try disabling the option to backup external drives from within the Dropbox desktop application preferences?

I am sorry for the long delay in getting back to you.  It took a while for one of the messages to pop up.

I have clicked "Don't ask me again"  but the message eventually comes back.  Can I permanently turn off this feature?

Hi there @Suzanne G.3, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

I'm not sure if you're referring to the automatic camera uploads feature or the Dropbox backup feature. Could you send me a screenshot of the notification you get when you plug your USB devices into your computer?

This would help me assist further.
