The Dropbox symbol shows a red square and I cant find a description.
What does that mean? Dropbox says "alles auf dem neuesten Stand" (ie. all actualized)

You have a pending notification in the Dropbox application.

If you open the Dropbox desktop application by clicking the icon, do you see any yellow messages on the various sections?
Do you have multiple monitors on your machine?

Thanks for your reply. No, I dont see any yellow messages. I just have a separate monitor attached to my laptop computer.

its a different symbol. it doesnt show up on the list.
Could you try temporarily disconnecting the second monitor, if possible, and see if the icon changes to a number or another image?
It did not change the symbol. But during today the red square has disappeared, no idea why. I didnt even restarted the computer. Well its kind of 'solved' - its description though is missing in the list of symbols.
I at present have one of those red squares too. Mothing of note when I open Dropbox on-line. I hoe mine dispperas too. Might have been caused by accidentally going over allowed GB limit today, but corrected that right away.

What do you see when you hover over the Dropbox icon there? Do you see any error messages?
It had a '2' in the box earlier, but changed to a blank red box. And now again has a '2' in it.
Assumed it must be number of notifications, but don't see any.
Hovering Says Dropbox 181.4.5678 and 'Up to Date'
Hi anonymous, could you try signing out of the app, and then back in please?
Makes no difference. Red square with2 inside still there. Doesn't bother me. I presume someone at Dropbox should be able to help you. But I can't.
