downloading via app

hi! sorry if it's a common question & i'm just "littering" community with my topic, but i actually have a question: can i download folders via dropbox app on mac without the need to add them to my dropbox cloud? i just don't want to download 7-8gb folders via browser, so i really hope you have an answer to my question!

The app is used to sync the data that's in your local Dropbox folder with the data in your account online. It can't download files or folders unless they're in your account.
