How can I convert a file into a PDF format?

After a file is transferred to dropbox on my ipad, how do I get dropbox to convert it to a PDF format so that dropbox can use it?

You need to use software first to convert it to a PDF before putting it in Dropbox.

Dropbox has no capability to convert files itself.
