I've just redid my whole system and reinstall dropbox as well.
I've also updated to win 10.
Any idea anybody?
Probably, or, if you dont need everything in Dropbox on your machine then use Selective Sync to remove things from Dropbox from your local machine - www.dropbox.com/help/175
Hi Janos
This message might be related to the space on your hard disk, not on Dropbox. You can use the http://www.dropbox.com/help/175feature to save space from your HD.
Hope this helps,
No, not really.
The problem is that I do have space on local HDD and on my account!
I have a 2TB HDD with 10s of GB-ts of free space and 1TB dropbox account (what I'm paying for monthly), with 650GB free space. It would be nice to have some answers from some support line, as I am paying for something and it's not working properly.

TKS!
Since today I get on my MAC the message, my HD is full and synchronization cant be done because of it.
I'm using 36% of my DropBox 1TB space and my MAC has 371 GB free from a total of 959 GB.There's for sure something wrong on Dropbox to analyze properly the HD.
I have try to navigate on the "Technical assistance" but can't get an answer.I have try to make a contact but I'm just looping back to assistance ....On 2nd of October I shall renew my annual agreement ..... If 1st of October the issue is not close I will NOT renew to a service which DO NOT synchronize for some bug.NO SERVICE NO MONEY!!!
CAPISCI?
Hi Dropbox
I keep getting this message that my dropbox is full. But it not. I havent even used 50%
So what can I do to stop this annoying messages and emails I get?
Best regards
Jim
If it's an email it's likely a fake one. Forward it to abuse@dropbox.com.
Jim, I have the same problem. Since I have pleanty of space in my dropbox account having deleted 100s of photo and 2/3 space on my hard drive empty nor are my e-mail fake, I have decided that it is just Dropbox's attempt to have me upgrade to get money. I am very discouraged with Dropbox as a service.
I will be very interested if you find a solution.
My issue is similar to helen.
i got the message that drop box was full. I deleted maybe 3/4 of photos from dropbox. Since then i continue to get the same notice. I emptied my recycle.. i restarted computer. I waited and waited. So far i still get same message. Dropbox is full over and over for weeks now.
dropbox is useless without a solution.
and yes i waded through your faq s .
I dont know what else to do but gather my files and go home.

If you're receiving this notice in an email, it's likely fake, meaning not actually from Dropbox. Forward it to abuse@dropbox.com and just go about your normal Dropbox business.
Hello everyone, I have the same problem, I can't accept a folder invitation even though I have plenty space, I deleted everything on my dropbox. It´s frustrating
Ask the owner of the shared folder how big it is. If Dropbox is telling you that you can't accept it, then it is larger than the amount of available space you have in your account.
Pro user, 84 GB used of 2TB, but my desk top icon on the right hand corner says "my hard drive is full" Dropbox will no longer be able to sync. What's going on? I have a ton of space as my account settings show. I'm on both PC and Mac. I get this message on my PC only but don't see it on my Mac. What's going on? Can anyone illuminate me, please? THANKS.
Did you read the thread Natalia?
You also need enough space on your hard drive to sync. So if you are only seeing it on the PC then the PC's hard drive is out of space but the Mac one isnt.
Hey Mark, thanks for the reply. Yes, I did ... Y'all are tech buffs way beyond my level. My tech muscles look a bit more like peas rather than big guns
So, super basic then. I need to back up my hard drive on an external drive to make more room for the drive to sync with drop box?
Thx
Super helpful, thanks. So my assumption always was that Dropbox replaces the need to sync to external hard drives as they get lost between home offices and work office and/or other staff using them (I have a super small biz), but this is in fact not correct? I should still back up my PC files on an external drive, and only use select sync for Dropbox? Thx.
