Phone number for technical support

I am having ongoing issues trying to get my Dropbox files to sync with my desktop. I am probably a few months behind on files on my desktop as this computer had to be taken to IT for some repairs. I left it running for more than 24 hours and it's just not working right. I have followed all of the troubleshooting guides online. Does anyone have a phone number so I can actually talk to someone from Dropbox?

Every Dropbox user can reach our Support team by submitting a ticket support request at www.dropbox.com/support .

Replies take approximately 1 - 3 business days with Business and Pro users getting priority (longer for Basic users).

Dropbox offers tech support over the phone for Dropbox Business teams on an Advanced or Enterprise plan .

However, for security reasons Dropbox can only provide phone tech support to admins of these teams.

We take security seriously, and work hard to ensure your files and accounts remain safe. This is the reason our phone number is not publically displaye. We require account verification in order to ensure that we're providing support to an authorized admin. This account verification is only available via the admin console.

If you find a Dropbox tech support phone number on a search engine or elsewhere that claims to lead to Dropbox support, it is not affiliated with Dropbox. Dropbox does not offer phone support other than what is described in this article. Be careful to avoid scams or other attempts to capture your account data.

Dropbox does not have phone support *, its either here or through the ticket system.

Phone support is available for business customers whom are paying for business rate plan. No they also do not accept onetime support payments.

You can always explain here and we can try to help you as best as possible. Many of us have gone through the exact same type of things over the years.

Hi. Can anyone help me please I sent referral requests to my friends to increase my storage they accepted it opened new accounts and downloaded the app via the link yet it's still saying at my end they haven't installed the app and it has not provided me with the extra storage.

They MUST install Dropbox on to a unique computer. So if they installed an APP from an APP STORE to a mobile/tablet etc. that does not qualify under the terms of the promotion.

Question about running out of space. Owner upgrades, paying $99/yr. File sharing member gets "Your Dropbox is Full" message at login. Does each file sharing member have to fork out the $99 each, or does that only apply to the owner?

Yes - basically.

Every person within a share needs enough quota to access the share.

If the share is under the amount of data in their account, however, they wont - e.g. if they've extra space via referrals / promos etc.

I just discovered that a large amount of files were deleted on 8/22/2015. I tried to open the 'trash can', but it was grayed out. I looked for the 'and many more' option, but each file is individual - no option to select multiple or all. I tried to submit a ticket, but was asked for 'deletion event' link, but no luck there either! I think the issue started when I tried to move space-grubbing files from my samsung android devices to sd cards. Please advise

I am being charged monthly for an upgraded subscription that I would like to end. When I login to my account it shows a basic plan yet every month I'm hit with a 9.99 fee from Dropbox. How do I end my subscription and the charge? Because the acct isn't showing I cannot downgrade as the instructions suggest.

I just upgraded and am extremely dussapointed... I need help and can't find it.. can anyone tell me how to upload my harddrive because I'm bring told it will crash soon.. I also don't know how to download files

I also just signed up, having errors and there's no tech support. After they have your money they obviously don't care about helping. I just want a refund so I can take my business elsewhere to a file storage company that actually staffs humans able and willing to help paying customers. I advise everyone to stay away from Dropbox. Surf these threads to see all the headaches this company has caused its customers.

PS: make sure to write in from the email address used for your account, especially if you are a paying customer

Interesting, I left a message two weeks ago and didn't get a response. I also sent an email and didn't receive an answer and I'm a paid subscriber. That's when the problems started. It was working fine before I upgraded. I've already started copying my pictures to another site.

Unless you're a Dropbox for Business customer, there is no phone support. All other account types (Pro, Basic) use the support system.

Have you opened a ticket yet? That's the only official method of receiving support. Once the ticket is open you might be able to reply back via email, but you should open a ticket in the system first.

I just reinstalled word but when I open my docs form dropbox, it will only open in notepad. On my laptop everything is fine and it still opens in word, like always.

Thats an issue with your installation Jim. Not Dropbox.

For some reason your computer hasn't associated .doc etc. with Word properly.

You need to google/ask Microsoft for help with that.

Error 500 does not state what the error is or how to correct it.

Could you tell me if you're a Dropbox for Business customer, or a Pro or a Basic customer?

It's possible that you contacted a phone number that is not Dropbox if you're not a Dropbox for Business customer.

If you wrote to the support (here: https://www.dropbox.com/support) but didn't get a reply in 2 weeks, then I would recommend to check your spam box. As Rich told you, we reply to customers in 3 days

I'll be more than happy to help you, but again, it would be much better if you could contact support as your problem looks like an advanced one.

@Peggy: Are you still seeing an error 500 when you use a different browser?

Spam is being send from our account, to various people, over 16 message to one person in the last 10 min. I need drop box to email me or call me ASAP.

I had an open file which was saved on dropbox, a minute before my computer ran out of battery. When i charged battery immediately, the file was still open. I tried to close it and get the question "the file 'tables3' has been modified" do you want to save changes?" I clicked no. However, the whole file has disappeared, and is neither in deleted items in dropbox nor in recycle bin on the pc. Appreciate any help

I am at a loss. All of my files have disappeared from drop box, although my folders are still there. My files are still on my hard drive though. When I try to click on tech support nothing shows up. I think everything is being hidden for some reason. Can someone please help?

Try clearing the browser cache, or a different browser.

Older versions of Safari are no longer able to view the Dropbox website properly. Use another browser.

I also sent this message in another Dropbox support area. In November I upgraded to Dropbox Pro. I checked and the $99 charge definitely hit my credit card on 11\16\15. However, the status of my Dropbox account never changed. I am still cutoff at 2GB. I need this fixed ASAP, like today! I would also like an explanation why this happened.

Our office is having trouble locating most of our files in our shared dropbox. These are sensitive files and cannot be lost. We cannot locate them in three of our computers and need to have this fixed as soon as possible. We have not deleted any of the folders, and yet they seem to have disappeared in most of our computers.
