The mobile app on iPhone is now opening in the Home tab, instead of the Files tab

Why is the iPhone app suddenly always opening in the Home tab, instead of in the Files-tab where I left off?

This is so … annoying, if you try to 'improve' the apps behavior, at least make the new way of working a setting that can be switched off, instead of forcing behavior to everyone that some people like, but others find really, really annoying …

Thanks for the extra info! I also tested this in the meantime, but I couldn’t reproduce the behavior, so I’d like us to look into it further.

Can you test this by opening your Account tab instead, and let me know what happens then? Do you still see the same tab as soon as you close - relaunch the Dropbox app, or are you redirected to “Home” again?

Are you having this issue if you simply minimize the Dropbox app (without closing it)?

What you can also try is to clear the cache of your mobile app (via its settings again) and then uninstall/reinstall it on your iPhone. Just make sure you're not on a free Basic plan with more than 3 devices currently linked before doing so.

Well, the behavior started yesterday or even today (I guess yesterday as the Dropbox app got an update yesterday) so I'd say the change is in this update.

My current app version is 496.2.2 and my iOS version is 26.7 (without another .1 or .2 )

Did you notice this new behavior right after your Dropbox app got updated to the latest app version, or after a different update on your iPhone?

Speaking of, can you clarify the app version of your Dropbox app (as shown in your mobile app settings), as well as your OS version?
