Total of 119 files were randomly deleted.

On 25 Oct 2026, I was shocked to realize some of my files were missing from Dropbox. So I went to Dropbox online - under deleted files. And I was shocked to see a total of 119 files deleted on 23 Oct 2026. I didn’t delete them and it’s randomized. I had to go press restore for all of them. Was there any recent glitches or new deletion feature I did not know ?

No to both, Dropbox cannot delete what it isnt told to do. So something on one of your machines has told it to do that.

It isnt clear on that screen that you can find out which it is, but, once you restored click on a file and go to the 'View Previous Versions' menu option, that will show which device initiated the deletion. That may help work out what caused it - for example, external drive? Directory moved?
