I just bought a new M4 MacBook. I've been using Dropbox for years on a Windows computer and an M2 MacBook. But I can't get it to work on my M4 MacBook. The window stays stuck on "Syncing…" with no file count or time.
I've tried restarting Dropbox, restarting the file provider service, checked that Dropbox had all the necessary permissions, rebooting. I've tried Selective Sync to sync just one folder, online-only files, etc.
So it did work when I synced a folder that had about 10 MB of files. I turned on that folder only in Selective Sync, then right-clicked on the folder icon and selected "make available offline."
But when I tried to sync a 9 GB folder, it hung at the message "Syncing…" with no file count.
Update: I got it to work with a few more folders that had only a few MB, but i did have to relaunch the finder to see the icons. But then I tried it with a folder that had maybe 100 MB and it hung again. This is never going to work… I have 80 GB of files.
