Hi, everyone!
I have been experiencing an issue with Dropbox since September 1, 2026.
We use Dropbox on four different Macs to access and work with the same files. Since September 1, the “Make available offline” and “Make online-only” options have completely disappeared from the Finder right-click menu.
Our current setup is:
- Mac 1 — macOS maco: the options disappeared and no longer work.
- Mac 2 — macOS Sequoia: the options disappeared and no longer work.
- Mac 3 — macOS Tahoe: everything is still working normally.
- Mac 4 — macOS version not confirmed yet. everything is also working normally.
The issue occurs with WAV files, PDFs, and folders. The options simply do not appear when right-clicking.
I have already gone through all the troubleshooting steps and procedures recommended by Dropbox, including checking the Dropbox sync and storage settings, checking the File Provider settings in macOS, and confirming that the Dropbox File Provider extension is enabled. I have also tried the other standard troubleshooting steps suggested for this issue, but nothing has resolved the problem.
What is particularly strange is that Dropbox continues to work normally on the Mac running macOS Tahoe, while the Macs running Monterey and Sequoia stopped showing these options at approximately the same time, starting on September 1.
Since I have already completed all the standard troubleshooting steps, I would like to know whether this could be related to a recent Dropbox update or a change in the Dropbox/macOS integration, particularly affecting Monterey and Sequoia.
Could someone confirm whether there is currently a known issue with these macOS versions?
And, most importantly, is there any way to restore the “Make available offline” and “Make online-only” options in Finder?
Thanks!
