I use an Android app called Leafspy to log my car's oeprational data to Dropbox. It was working for a long while, but sometime earlier this year, it no longer is able to connect to Dropbox if 2FA is enabled on my account.
It has always been a little problematic — when entering the username and password, if I have to put my password manager in the foregroud so that I can retrieve the password, the app would reset the Dropbox screen to the username page.
If I manually type in username and password, I should be receiving a screen to enter the 2FA data, but that does not happen and the app is not able to get logged into Dropbox.
If I turn off 2FA, I can sign in with username and password, but as soon as I turn 2FA back on (and then have new set of OTP fallback codes), the app is no longer able to have access again.
Is there some way to whitelist access without 2FA on a temporary basis? Or is there something that the developer is not doing correctly? I have reported this issue to the developer several times but they insist that they have no problems.
