Could you please clarify your computer's exact OS version and the version and status of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your menu bar?
If this persists after rebooting your computer and/or quitting and relaunching the app, could you send me a full-page screenshot so that I can confirm that you're taking these actions inside your Dropbox folder and that there are syncing icons on your files as well?
