Hey @ppaffe, thanks for posting your question to the Dropbox Community.

To be honest, there's no way to disable the menu bar/system tray window.

Can you let me know why you want to disable it? Does it not close by itself when you click out of it?

HIt's in the way of other information I want to see on my screen. And it's a eyesore. If I click outside of it, sometimes it goes away but often I have to click several times around it. It's a real pain since I am in and out of DP often.
